This series of RDE tips may be used with the WaveVortex 10, MSR, and ASR electrode rotators.

Everybody's favorite Pine Research RRDE design allows you to use the same ring assembly with as many different disk inserts as you like.  Featuring our novel "U-Cup" design, the E6 Series is our latest line of interchangeable disk RRDE tips.  These RRDE tips feature a PEEK shroud which is designed for use over a wide range of temperatures.  This tough and chemically resistant shroud material is ideal for applications where the RRDE tip undergoes routine thermal cycling.

MAXIMUM ROTATION RATE: 3000 RPM — Never exceed maximum rotation rate when working with rotating electrodes.

The PTFE U-Cup is a consumable product for the ChangeDisk RDE and RRDE tips.  To ensure proper operation and longevity of the tip, Pine Research recommends replacing the U-Cup every 3-4 times you perform a ChangeDisk operation.  Permanent, irreversible damage to the tip will result if the U-Cup is not regularly changed.

TEMPERATURE RANGE: 10°C – 80°C — Electrode damage may occur at temperatures beyond recommended range.

CHEMICAL INCOMPATIBILITIES: Concentrated Strong Acids — Damage or discoloration may occur.

Polishing PEEK-shrouded electrodes is best accomplished using a mechanical polisher.  Other shroud materials are available upon request.

This series of RDE tips may be used with the WaveVortex 10, MSR, and ASR electrode rotators.

PEEK has different wetting properties than PTFE.  It is possible that some solvents (inks) may not stay on the surface of the disk electrode during casting.  In these cases, users may consider our PTFE option of this same tip, recognizing the temperature limitation for PTFE-based tips!

These RRDE tips feature a PEEK shroud which is designed for use over a wide range of temperatures (10°C to 80°C).  This tough and chemically resistant shroud material is ideal for applications where the RRDE tip undergoes routine thermal cycling.  These RRDE tips have a 15.0 mm OD shroud and are designed with the same thread connections as our standard 15.0 mm OD RDE tips, making it easy to switch between RDE and RRDE configurations using the same rotator shaft.  Designed for experiments like fuel cell electrocatalyst screening, these RRDE tips provide the platform you need to study catalyst behavior over a range of temperatures.

E6R1 PEEK Series RRDE tips feature removable disk inserts (sold separately).  Standard metal disk inserts offered by Pine Research are 5.0 mm OD x 4.0 mm thick and are fabricated from gold, platinum, or glassy carbon; however, disks may be made from other materials or dimensions upon request.  A toolkit (sold separately) and polishing kit (sold separately) are also required to change and polish the metal disk insert between experiments.

Compatible shafts include AFE6MBAFE6M, and AFE5M for use with the MSR rotatorAFE6A and AFE5A for use with the ASR rotator, and AFE5F for non-rotating applications.  The E5TQPK Series RDE tips are also compatible with the WaveVortex 10 Electrode Rotator.
